yuen tsuen ancient trail // bouldering

This is what the trail looks like when we were first started out. Before this and right when you step up off the bus, there are a good 592 steps to walk up.

You can see the city well

As we got further out, we started to see little gardens and homes.

There was even a bull that came out of the bushes! He was nice though. He looked at us and just kept walking on his trail.

The trail became less manicured the further we went.

We ended up on this peak.
It had an amazing view.

Amazing. . .

The panoramic image is of poor quality. Sorry. But it illustrates the sort of view we had.

Alex was totally into it...

There were tombs that looked like this one randomly throughout the mountains.

This 35 ft rock face had an awesome crack in it. (we got this picture for you Josh). With the brush surrounding it, seems as though it is untouched. A highball boulder route no doubt, not for me!

The climbing starts. . .

It was cool to feel so far away from the city, yet be so close.

He had a lot of fun climbing on those boulders. This is Alex's new passion.

Like I've said before. The views were awesome!

:)

The walk down was steep at some points

I fell. . .

  1. y'all oughtta' send that one of alex from the side, with the city just barely in the frame, into a magazine or something. great shot.

These are so amazing. I am glad they have that kind of terrain to get outta' the city like that. Very cool. I need to go venture out and find the carolina hill country, myself. :)
